Sign up for Hyperwallet: December 8, 2025

Starting December 8, 2025, designers can sign up for a Hyperwallet account.

  • Click the “Connect to Hyperwallet”  link on your earnings page to get started.
  • You’ll be asked to complete a short identity verification process (in accordance with global "Know Your Customer" laws), so please have your government-issued ID ready.

Deadline: January 19, 2026

You must have a valid Hyperwallet account linked to your 99designs profile before January 19th, 2026 in order to continue working on 99designs.

Transition Period: January 19th - 31st, 2026

Starting January 19, 2026:

  • Manual Payout Requests will be Discontinued: The "Request Payout" button will be disabled for all designers. Starting on January 22nd, there will be automated weekly payouts every US Tuesday and Thursday - these payouts will be sent to your most recent successful payout method connected to your PayPal/Payoneer account.
  • Automatic Payout: All payouts will be processed automatically. Depending on where the funds originated, we may send funds to your Hyperwallet or to your most recently used Payoneer or PayPal payment method during this transition period as we gradually migrate our payout systems.
  • Account Suspension for Non-Compliance: If you do not have an active and verified Hyperwallet account by January 19, 2026, your 99designs account will be temporarily suspended until your Hyperwallet account is successfully created and verified. If you do not have a Hyperwallet account by this date, any earnings balance will be sent to your most recent Payoneer or Paypal payout method before account suspension.

Action Required:

  • Ensure you have an active and verified Hyperwallet account created before January 19, 2026.
  • As we may process your payments to your Hyperwallet account and/or your most recently used Payoneer or PayPal payment method during the migration period, please also ensure that your Payoneer or Paypal details are correct.

Payments will be sent automatically once your earnings reach $25. (Note that 99designs operates as two separate corporate structures: a US-based entity and a European-based entity. The $25 minimum payout is accumulated independently based on which company sourced your earnings.)

Transition Complete: February 1st, 2026

Beginning February 1, 2026, ALL designer payouts will only be sent via Hyperwallet. This means that all Payoneer and PayPal information will be fully removed from your account. Designers who have not set up a Hyperwallet account will not be able to continue working on the platform until their account is connected and verified.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Hyperwallet?

A: Hyperwallet is a global payout platform owned by PayPal, designed to help businesses and marketplaces send mass payments to individuals worldwide. It supports a variety of payout methods, including bank transfers, PayPal, prepaid cards, and more, allowing recipients to choose the most convenient option for them. Visit Hyperwallet.com for more information.

Can my business or agency name be on my 99designs and Hyperwallet accounts?

A: You may use a business name on 99designs, but your 99designs account must be owned and managed by one individual. You must create a personal payee profile in Hyperwallet as 99designs does not support team-based or shared designer accounts.

Will/Why won’t I be able to work on 99d if I don’t have a Hyperwallet account?

A: After January 19, 2026, Hyperwallet will be the only payout provider available. If you do not connect a Hyperwallet account, you will no longer be able to work on 99designs by Vista. Please see this help article from Hyperwallet if you need assistance setting up your account.

Hyperwallet supports a variety of transfer methods, including PayPal, Bank Account, Bank Card, Physical/Virtual Prepaid Card, and more. The specific methods available vary depending on your specific country, region, and currency. Please visit Hyperwallet’s support center to see what methods are available in your country.

Can I use a different email in my Hyperwallet account?

A: No. We will use your 99designs email address to connect your account to Hyperwallet. Be sure to use the same email address on both accounts.

If my Hyperwallet account is different from my current account’s email, will that create an issue?

A: Yes, potentially. Please use the same email address for both your 99designs account and your Hyperwallet account to ensure a smooth setup.

How do Hyperwallet's fees work? Is there a monthly account fee?

A: Fees vary by region and the payout method selected. Log into your Hyperwallet account and click "Resources" at the top of the screen. Choose "Fees" from the dropdown menu. Here you can see the fees for each payout method available to you.

For example, if your default payout method is set to bank transfer and the fee in your country is .80 cents for bank transfers, this means .80 cents will be deducted from your earnings each time 99designs sends a payment. If 99designs sends $10, Hyperwallet will deduct .80 cents, and deposit $9.20 directly to your bank account without any action on your part.

Because Hyperwallet is sending your payments directly through to your chosen default payout method, there are no monthly fees. This means that you will never have a balance in Hyperwallet as money will automatically flow through to your chosen payout method. Since you are not storing any funds in Hyperwallet, you will not incur any monthly fees.

Why are we changing from Paypal/Payoneer to Hyperwallet?

A: We’re making this change to provide a better, more flexible, and scalable payout experience for our global designer community while ensuring we stay aligned with global financial regulations and Know Your Customer laws.

Can I move back to using Paypal/Payoneer?

A: No. After January 19th, Hyperwallet will be the only payout provider available. If you do not connect a Hyperwallet account, you will no longer be able to work on 99designs by Vista. Please see this help article from Hyperwallet if you need assistance setting up your account

If my payout has an issue, whom should I contact, Hyperwallet or 99designs?

If you have questions about the status of a payment, please reach out to 99designs support through this form. If you are having difficulty receiving funds from your Hyperwallet account, you can contact their support team here.

Can I change my Hyperwallet account details once it’s connected?

A: No. Global “Know Your Customer” laws require us to have verified government identification for each person we send payments to. Once your 99designs account has a verified Hyperwallet account linked, we cannot change ownership to a different person.

Can Hyperwallet transfer to my bank account?

A: Payout options vary from country to country. Please log into your Hyperwallet account to see which payout options are available in your region.

Since Hyperwallet is owned by PayPal, do I have to use PayPal for my payouts?

A: No, you do not have to use PayPal! Hyperwallet supports a variety of transfer methods, including Bank Account, Bank Card, Physical/Virtual Prepaid Card, and more. The specific methods available vary depending on your specific country, region, and currency. Please visit Hyperwallet’s support center to see what methods are available in your country.

Once the transition is complete, how will automatic payouts work? When can I expect payment to arrive?

A: Once you’ve completed a Contest handover or delivered final files in a Project and the client has released the funds, a 5-business-day review period will commence before funds are automatically transferred to your Hyperwallet account. This review ensures that no administrative adjustments are necessary before the money is sent to your Hyperwallet.

For example:

  • A client releases payment for a Project you completed on Monday.
  • The next day (Tuesday), you finish the handover for a Contest you’ve won.

Here’s how the payout timeline will look:

  • Your Project payment will arrive in your Hyperwallet account by the following Monday (5 business days after the client releases the funds).
  • Your Contest prize will arrive by the following Tuesday, 5 business days after you completed the handover.
