Which payment providers does 99designs use?

As of January 19th, 2026, we are migrating designers' payout to Hyperwallet. For more info, please check this page: https://support.99designs.com/hc/en-us/articles/43258514355604-Setting-Up-Hyperwallet-Required-for-All-Designer-Payouts-by-January-19-2026

Hyperwallet (a PayPal service) is the exclusive payout provider for 99designs by Vista. All designers on 99designs must have an active Hyperwallet account linked as part of the application process, and in order to work on the platform.

How do I set up my Hyperwallet account?

  1. Securely log into your designer account and navigate to your Earnings page

  1. Hyperwallet’s payout options vary by region. Select your country from the dropdown menu and click “Continue to Hyperwallet” to finish setting up your account. NOTE: Make sure that your profile name matches with the name on your bank. You will also need to provide a government-issued identification document in order to validate your Hyperwallet account.
  2. Typically, Hyperwallet reviews and approves new accounts within 2-3 business days. If you are having difficulty setting up your Hyperwallet account, contact their support team here.

If you are a new designer, you will be asked to set up your Hyperwallet account as part of the application process.

How fast will my payout be sent once it’s processed?

When your earnings for a Contest or Project are released, they’ll be automatically sent to your Hyperwallet account within 5 business days, as long as your earnings balance is at least $25. Please note that payments are processed on business days only. Business days do not include Saturdays, Sundays, or US public holidays.

Example payout timeline:

  • A client releases payment for a Project on Monday
  • You complete the handover for a Contest you’ve won on Tuesday.

What happens next:

The Project payment will be sent to your Hyperwallet account by the following Monday (5 business days after the client releases the funds). The Contest prize will be sent to your Hyperwallet account by the following Tuesday (5 business days after the handover is completed).

If your total earnings are below $25, the funds will remain in your account and automatically be sent once the minimum threshold is met.

(Note that 99designs operates as two separate corporate structures: a US-based entity and a European-based entity. The $25 minimum payout is accumulated independently based on which company sourced your earnings.)

For more details on other payout methods during the transition period, please visit this page https://support.99designs.com/hc/en-us/articles/43258514355604-Setting-Up-Hyperwallet-Required-for-All-Designer-Payouts-by-January-19-2026

How do I receive my funds from Hyperwallet?

Hyperwallet offers many payout methods but they vary by region, so please log into your Hyperwallet account to see what options are available to you.

What fees will be charged to me?

While signing up for a Hyperwallet account is free, fees to withdraw earnings vary by your payout method, region, and currency. Please see the Hyperwallet Support center for more specific fee information.
