Why is my account being verified?
99designs is a professional marketplace and it's important for us to confirm the identities of our users in order to maintain a trusted environment for conducting business.
As a new designer, you will be required to verify your identity when you attempt to submit your first designs into a contest. If you are an established designer who has not yet been asked to verify your identity, you will be asked to submit your ID the next time you request a payout.
As a client, proof of identity may be requested while the platform is being used. If so, we will reach out to you to let you know you’ve been asked to provide ID, and you will be led through the verification process the next time you’re on the site.
Your 99designs account will remain on hold until you're able to provide legitimate, verifiable information about your identity. Verification only takes a few minutes and helps to secure your account and payments.
Is my information safe and secure?
As an added measure, we've integrated with the identity management company Jumio, which has invested heavily in building a highly secure and reliable platform. Jumio is PCI Level 1 compliant and regularly conducts security audits, vulnerability scans and penetration tests to ensure compliance with security best practices and standards. All data is transmitted using secure transport with strong cipher suites and stored encrypted using AES256.

How do I verify my account?
1. Verify Your ID
If you see this page when you log into 99designs, it means that you haven't yet verified your account. Click the button to begin the process.
2. Select ID type
Have your ID ready. Select your country and then choose the corresponding ID type.
3. Scan the front of your ID
Hold your document up to your webcam, center it in the viewing window and click "Take snapshot" when the document is fully legible. Be sure there isn’t a glare on plastic cards.
Make sure your snapshot is fully legible in the window to the right. If fully legible, click "Continue". If not, click "Take another snapshot" to try again.
4. Take a photo of your face
Look straight into your webcam and ensure your face is fully centered. When you're ready, click "Take snapshot".
Check your photo in the right window and if your face is fully visible, click "Finish & start verification". If not, click "Take another snapshot" to try again.
5. Wait for your verification to process
Once you’ve finished, your information will be uploaded into the system and then processed. Hold tight while it’s being analyzed and be sure not to close your browser. These 2 steps may take a few minutes. You’re free to continue working in other tabs or apps.
6. You’re verified!
Thanks! We'll email you when your document is verified. Once verified, you'll be able to access 99designs again.
