What is a private Contest?
Private Contests at 99designs by Vista are contests that are hidden from the public, both in search engines and on the website itself. Designers must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) to participate, agreeing not to share any content, including information in the brief and any related design concepts created during the contest process. Keep in mind that breaking an agreement, intentional or not, can have severe consequences.
What is an NDA or Non-Disclosure Agreement?
A Non-Disclosure Agreement is a legally binding document materializing an agreement between parties, that the agreeing party will not disclose any information shared within the contractual relationship. This means that designers agree to keep all information (including brief, files, etc.) exchanged in a Contest or 1-1 Project private not only throughout the project's timeline but also afterward.
⚠️ Any design created in a private contest or project cannot be shared in your 99designs portfolio nor anywhere else - sold or not.
How do I sign an NDA?
For private contests, 99designs by Vista provides a generic NDA contract. It will appear and prompt you to sign it before you can access the contest and participate. Some clients may have more specific restrictions, so it’s always important to review all contest briefs and attachments carefully.
Can clients request an NDA in a 1-to-1 Projects?
Yes, in 1-to-1 Projects, clients can check a box that prevents a designer from sharing their design concepts outside of the project. Clients can also upload their own NDA if they desire additional privacy and they may request a signature from you to finalize the agreement. Please keep all documents and communication on the platform so we can assist you should doubts or issues arise.
Not complying with the agreed conditions in a Contest or 1-1 Project can lead to an immediate and permanent ban from the platform and could potentially result in legal consequences.
