Each designer owns the copyright to their designs until they are declared a contest winner by a client, and the rights to the winning design are transferred over to the client.
That transfer happens at the end of the contest, in the Design Handover stage. This gives both parties a chance to sign the Design Transfer Agreement.
After the winning design has been uploaded in the Design Handover process, and the copyright transfer is agreed to by both parties, copyright is seen to be transferred to the client.
You can print the Design Transfer Agreement for your records if you wish. But we’ll also keep a copy of the agreement on our site, where you can access it at any time through your Design Handover page.
