Please don't submit stock art, free vectors, clip art, photo traces, or third party-derived images of any kind to logo, illustration or button/icon contests.
In wordmark contests, fonts must be customized or they will be treated as stock art.
Please follow the guidelines below if you are going to use a stock image in a design that is not for a logo, illustration, or button/icon contest.
Guidelines
1. Make sure it is a legitimate stock image from an authorized agency.
**Note: "Free" wallpaper sites and search engine results are not appropriate places to source your images.
2. We do not recommend sites that are 'free with attribution' however if you do use this type of stock imagery we request that you are very clear with the client in regards to what this means for them.
3. Declare all stock images used at the time the design is submitted. (This includes brushes and glyph fonts).
4. Check the license to ensure 100% that the stock image can be legally used as the client intends.
Stock images can certainly enhance certain designs when you're able to use them. Before you utilize stock imagery please make yourself familiar with the rules around stock images — failure to follow the rules will result in your 99designs account being suspended or possibly closed forever.
Keep in mind that clients aren’t going to be happy if they are legally pursued over copyright issues arising from your work — and you’ll be liable for any costs and damages they incur.
